Microsoft Imagine Cup 2013

International final of an annual Microsoft competition was held in Saint-Petersburg in July 7-12, 2013. It hosted 900 people from 70 countries all over the world.

Imagine Cup is the largest annual technology competition in the world

This competition has been supported by Microsoft since 2003. Imagine Cup Worldwide Final 2013 took place in Russia for the first time. The competition attracted a lot of attention from the public, the press and online audience both in Russia and in many countries around the world.

The contest is held to support students intending to work in the field of IT, enable students to implement their projects, attract large numbers of media and sponsors.

The international finals of the annual competition of student projects Imagine Cup Microsoft 2013

The finals gathered winning teams from regional competitions organized in 71 countries around the world in St. Petersburg. This unique project covered a huge audience of young people, government officials, media, employees from various IT-companies, university staff and many others who are interested in modern technologies. The project involved more than 290 contractors and attracted 929 participants, the jury and Microsoft volunteers.

The scale of the event was unprecedented.

Incentive Fund «Microsoft Imagine Cup» amounted to $1,000,000, while the number of competitors was the largest in the history of the project. 500,000 tender applications were received.

Event coverage and status

The event was widely covered in the media: 175 publications in Russian and around more than 1,000 publications around the world were devoted to the finals of the competition in St. Petersburg in Russia. And we received positive feedback from customers and participants.
